The San Andreas Ethics Commission oversees standards of conduct for public officials and considers complaints about the use of public office and public money.
On 27 September 2026 the Governor closed and cleared every State investigation or referral into the conduct of officers and first responders during the earthquake and its aftermath, including the referral of Sheriff's Captain James Kellow to the Commission.
