    An earthquake strikes beneath Los Santos

    Los Santos is evacuated to Paleto Bay. A state of emergency is declared.

  2. Completed: Friday 25 September 2026, evening

    Governor Richard Ashcombe suffers a cardiac arrest

    The Governor collapses as the earthquake strikes and is flown to the Fort Zancudo reservation, where medical staff work through the night.

    Governor Ashcombe dies at Fort Zancudo

    He was 64. His death is not announced at the time.

    A statement is issued in the Governor's name

    The Statement on the Los Santos Seismic Event of Regional Interest and the State’s Recovery Posture, signed by the Chief of Staff, says the Governor is safe and announces a series of measures, including a freeze on disaster assistance. It has since been rescinded in full.

    Governor Diane Carrow takes the oath of office

    The Office of the Governor confirms Governor Ashcombe's death. Lieutenant Governor Diane Carrow takes the oath of office as the 41st Governor of San Andreas at the temporary seat of government, Fort Zancudo, before the Chief Justice of the San Andreas Supreme Court.

  6. Completed: Sunday 27 September 2026, night

    Every measure of 26 September is cancelled

    Governor Carrow cancels every measure in the statement of 26 September and announces the Earthquake Support Payment. The State accepts the Los Santos Fire Department's count of at least 700 people who died in the earthquake.
