Measures cancelled on 27 September

On the night of Sunday 27 September 2026, Governor Diane Carrow cancelled every measure announced by the Office of the Governor on 26 September. None of those measures has any effect.

Investigations and referrals into the conduct of officers and first responders, including the referral of Sheriff's Captain James Kellow to the San Andreas Ethics Commission, and the safety review of a senior fire officer who returned to duty after being shot
Closed and cleared

Every State investigation or referral is closed and cleared. The State will take no action against any officer, deputy, firefighter or medic for what they did to protect people.

Harlan J. Mercer, who issued the statement of 26 September, was dismissed as Chief of Staff with immediate effect.
