Death of Governor Richard Ashcombe

It is with deep sorrow that the death is announced of Richard Ashcombe, Governor of the State of San Andreas.

Governor Ashcombe suffered a cardiac arrest as the earthquake struck on the evening of Friday 25 September 2026. He was flown to the Fort Zancudo reservation, where he died at 03:47 on Saturday 26 September 2026, aged 64.

Flags on all State buildings are to fly at half-mast for 30 days from 27 September 2026. A state memorial will be held when it is safe to do so.

The announcement of the Governor's death was delayed by almost 40 hours. The statement issued in his name on 26 September 2026 has been rescinded in full.
