Earthquake Support Payments have started

The first $10,000 Earthquake Support Payments reached residents on 28 September. Nobody needs to apply.

Published:
Monday 28 September 2026

The State started paying the Earthquake Support Payment on Monday 28 September 2026, less than a day after Governor Carrow announced it. Most people are paid within an hour.

The payment is $10,000, once for each person who was living in San Andreas when the earthquake struck. It is paid automatically into your bank account. You do not need to apply, and nobody can apply on your behalf.

The State will never ask you for a fee, your bank details or your password to release the payment. If anyone does, report it to the police.

You can see whether you have been paid, and the reference for your payment, at Check your Earthquake Support Payment.
